Picture Day

Kalimera!!

So, my homework from the other day was to figure out how to put pictures on my blog. My plan is to post the baby belly pics but I don't have many of since I was traumatized after I posted my 4 month bump pictures on facebook and everyone viciously attacked me about my size. Seriously, who does that?! One person actually said "I'm so glad my baby was early so I never had to get this big".....that person has now been deleted and blocked from facebook, and in the event should I ever see her walking down the street toward me I will throw whatever I have in my hands in her face! Right in her face!!

Ok calm down...deep breath in *in with peace*...and out *out with thoughts of violent attacks involving Starbucks lattes as weapons*...ok I think we're good. Back to figuring out this picture thing.

This should be so easy. There's a little link on the toolbar that says "insert image" so lets see what that does.....

Nope. Didn't work. I guess that would have been too easy.

Maybe I have to plug my camera into the computer....

That didn't work either. Ummmm, now what?

Call Kevin? It's 1:39am in Nanaimo. Should I call him anyway?? I'm his pregnant big sister, he can't get mad at me. Actually he'll get revenge instead which is even worse. Hmmmm. Maybe I should eat something? Eating solves everything...

Success!
Two pancakes, a scrambled egg and about a half a ton of watermelon later and victory is mine!

So this is back at 3 months. I can't even believe my belly was ever that small. Actually looking back at this I don't think I was really showing yet but I was so excited to grow a belly that I probably took bloating or a big dinner as the first sign of baby bump.

I'm looking a little pale too...this is the tail end of the 1 1/2 months of horrendous morning sickness. I'm so glad that's over!

1 month later I turned into this!!

This is at 4 months. No denying it, that's one heck of a bump! Unfortunately after this point I didn't take anymore pictures until today because I had to work through the body image issues like I was saying before. But thankfully that's ok now (SFU Psychology, holla!) Too bad I didn't major in photography though, I know this is making a couple of my more talented photographer friends cringe (Liz, Johanna...I may need a crash course)

 And this is today!

26 weeks and
4 days

We're nearing the end of the 2nd trimester, getting ready for the 3rd and final trimester in less than 2 weeks. How crazy is that?! It seemed like time slowed down when I hit the 20th week but now that I'm writing that I'm almost on the last trimester I can't believe it. May's almost over, and August I plan on doing nothing but waiting for her arrival, so that means I have June and July to set up her room and start getting everything ready. And as the professional procrastinator that I am, I haven't started yet. It may be a busy couple of months. Oh well, it should be fun!

That being said, today I'm going to continue procrastinating...I'm off to the beach!

Adia!

Lets Get Ready to Rumble!

Today began with choosing between 2 options: throw my crappy computer over the balcony and enjoy my tea in the morning sun, OR find a solution to the communication breakdown that has occurred over the last few months BECAUSE OF the crappy computer.

I picked option number 2 but at this point option number 1 is definitely still on the table.

Here's the issue: keeping in touch with family and friends while living halfway across the world has become difficult thanks to my crappy computer and crappy computer accessories (camera, microphone, etc). Skype conversations are a massive headache lately, literally and figuratively, leaving my Skype profile unused for months now. Facebook has kept everyone fairly well up to date except the majority of my family over the age of 40 who haven't jumped on the FB bandwagon and probably never will. So my solution to all this....besides blaming technology and chucking it over the balcony in a crazy, screaming, pregnant lady, hormonal fit....I'll start a blog.

Great idea Tara. Your computer is pissing you off so you've come up with a plan that involves spending even more time on the computer. Brilliant. Your 5 years of university was money well spent.

Yeah alright, this may become even more of a headache than the recent Skype woes but I'll give it a shot and if it doesn't work out I'll buy a phone card so I can tell you all about the scrap heap under the lemon tree that was my computer.

But here's my vision:

I want to write a little something everyday, or almost everyday, about what's going on in life. Photographs included. This means pregnancy updates, what's going on in Molyvos, where I went, what I saw, probably a lot about food because I'm obsessed with food and whatever's on my mind at the time. This will also encourage me to get out of the house and do some interesting thing so I actually have something worthwhile to write about....I'll admit it, I'm massive and leaving the house lately has seemed like a massive undertaking because of it. But that's not healthy and it's time for a change!

So that's the plan. We'll see how it goes. Already I'm getting a bit agitated by this blogging site because I want to change the title of the blog and a few other things but of course I can't figure it out. That's ok. You'll probably notice things changing a lot over the next little while as I figure out how to do this, but I'll just get started and learn as I go. Today my homework is to figure out how put pictures on here. But for now, I need to get back to the sunny balcony and conjure up some kind of zen state...deep breath in *in with calm*...and let it out *out with murderous thoughts on technology*....that's better! Namaste...
